We Share Our Favorites

If you’ve always wanted to take a European vacation, choosing which city to visit can be a bit daunting. With so many different destinations and each with something different to offer, we understand how narrowing it down can be tough. That’s why the members of our Newark Airport parking company have come up with nine of their favorites:

Prague, Czech Republic

If music, architecture, and a bohemian lifestyle are your thing, head to the capital city of the Czech Republic. With its beautiful gothic-style buildings, hilltop castles, and live music nearly all over the place, you’ll feel like you stepped into a wonderland. Plus, because it’s a more under-the-radar city, Prague is one of the more affordable destinations on our list.

Santorini, Greece

This Cyclade island, located 120 miles off the coast of Greece’s mainland, is known for its gleaming blue waters and steep, layered cliffs. Head there and you can roam red or black sand beaches, discover archaeological history, and stroll through the white-and-blue homes that line the jagged shores.

Madrid, Spain

Spain’s largest city has basically everything you’d want in a vacation: beautiful architecture, luxury hotels, a lively nightlife, unique museums, and delicious food. What’s great about the city is even though it’s large, most experiences can be taken in by strolling through the area – especially when the experiences are quaint markets or festive street dancing.

Vienna, Austria

Vienna is known for its artistic culture that captures creative individuals from all over the world. The city boasts an abundance of art galleries, musical events, and historical significances. And with baroque palaces perched on hilltops and cobblestone streets winding through the area, you’re sure to fit right in like a local.

London, England

Although London still has plenty of classic culture (take the double-decker buses and red phone boots for example), it’s also gained a very modern air. Visitors can both sides – high-end shopping and old theaters; a major sporting event and divey pubs; world-class restaurants and historical architecture. There’s something in London for everyone.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands

While Amsterdam gets a bad rap for its Red Light District and “special” baked goods, it’s a charming place to visit. The city is filled with colorful homes, buildings, bridges, and canals at every turn and with some of the friendliest locals in the area, it keeps people coming back. Best of all, it’s easy to navigate on bike or on foot.

Venice, Italy

Nothing beats the experience of city that has more than 175 canals running through it. Venice gives you a taste of romance while offering plenty of amazing restaurants, palaces, churches, art galleries, theaters, and high-end shopping. Just don’t forget to take a gondola ride underneath the Ponte degli Scalzi (Bridge of the Barefoot).

Edinburgh, Scotland

Head to Scotland’s capital city and you’ll find cultural festivals and events as well as plenty of historical World Heritage sites in Old Town. Head to New Town, however, and you’ll find just the opposite. And if you’re an outdoor enthusiast, there’s no shortage of breathtaking spaces for hiking, picnic-ing, or simply relaxing.

Porto, Portugal

Though you’ve likely never heard of Porto, it’s Portugal’s second-largest city after Lisbon. Every year, wine lovers flock to the region for the many wineries and vineyards (as well as the delicious seafood that goes with them). Situated along the Atlantic Ocean and the Douro River, visitors can also enjoy plenty of beautiful beaches as well as stunning, stately bridges.
